ILLEA — Handicrafts, Fashion, and Social Development

"Fashion with Purpose" is a social project by the Latin American Institute for Environmental Studies (ILLEA), created to unite fashion, handicrafts, sustainability, and social development. The initiative seeks to promote productive inclusion, income generation, and the valuing of work done by women from different regions of Brazil, recognizing their talents, knowledge, and life stories.

The project is grounded in the understanding that handicrafts are a powerful tool for transformation. Through artisanal production, many women find opportunities to develop their skills, achieve greater financial autonomy, and strengthen their participation in the economy. Each piece produced represents not only manual labor but also a story of dedication, creativity, resilience, and hope.

The initiative encourages the repurposing of fabric scraps, garments, and other textile materials that might otherwise be discarded. Womens entrepreneurship plays a key role in ILLEAs proposal.
