Peroba
The medicinal use of peroba (primarily *Aspidosperma polyneuron*) is limited to folk medicine. Its bitter, astringent bark is used in teas and infusions to treat fevers and respiratory disorders. Other peroba species are also traditionally used to manage malaria, diabetes, and cholesterol levels. However, it is crucial not to consume the plant without medical guidance, as it contains substances that can be toxic and cause miscarriages in both humans and animals.
